My name is Colleen Josephson, and I research wireless communication
and sensing systems, with a focus on how we can leverage sensing for
sustainability. I am an Assistant Professor at UC Santa Cruz, and
formerly a research scientist at VMware and where I led the Next G
Alliance Societal and Economic Needs and ‘Green G’ working groups.
I received my PhD in Electrical Engineering at
Stanford in 2020. My advisors

Katti and Keith
Winstein.
In my past lives I was a wireless firmware engineer
at Cisco Meraki, and an
